The latest Halloween pics EVAH

This is all part of the plan. Everyone gets tired of seeing every kid in Halloween garb, but if I wait three weeks, it's new again. It's kind of like the daily newspaper -- the news is so old by the time you see it, you forgot and the newspaper reminds you!

So here you go, our little love bug/butterfly (I prefer love bug.)

And here is the oddly matched tandem of Harry Potter and Captain Rex. This actually makes quite a bit of sense if you've heard Riley's Comparative Lit lecture on the similarities between "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter."

And here ... is a Viking. That's all I got.

Recognizing greatness

We're hatching our Thanksgiving plan, which includes our friend Ted from Linda's high school days. We were reminding Brady about Ted: He's a doctor, he's really nice, etc.

"Is he funny?" Brady asked.

Well, sure, we said.

"Is he funnier than Tim? Because Tim moons people."

Touche.

Our current screensaver

That's all.

School pictures!

We have hard copies of these and will get them to you, oh, by the time they graduate from college. But in case you can't wait .... it would have been more photogenic for Brady to smile. But Brady smiling for fake purposes and on command wouldn't be Brady.

Ten years with YeYe

One month ago today. I don't have much to say, but I think these are some never-before-seen photos because we're horrible about doing anything with all those digital pics we store up. Anyway, there's a pretty good chronology of a pretty fun grandpa.

Summer 2005, during that vacation to Lake Delton but this was in that other lake that we went to that had the state park.

Riley just after his first birthday. Says now: "That's me? YeYe looks like you."

Brady loves NiNi's husband Mr. Ryan.

Roughhousing in Manzanita after Missy and Michael's wedding.

He ain't heavy, he's my grandson!

Mexico 2007. It's 9 p.m. and 80 degrees, and the pool is just perfectly cool. Life doesn't get better.

Lake at 2 months old. I believe this picture will always be on display in our house.

Have a good day.
Peace.

John

It's (belated) party time!

If this isn't the best beer ad ever, someone please tell me what is.

As to the frosting, Lake was slightly civilized at the Tsai family compound a couple days before her birthday. I also posted some pictures on Facebook that everyone should be able to see by following this link http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2022515&id=1395187726&l=a375c81f2e

I'll try to figure out how to edit down videos for uploading, plus we'll try to get video of Lake humming the Star Wars music.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Riley made this yesterday. We went to a Digital Clubhouse event because Linda works with that group, and while we were there, they gave him a computer to use, even though you're supposed to be in fourth grade to be in the club. As Linda tells it, they basically sat him down and said here, do this, and he figured the whole thing out from there. He also crafted and wrote the entire script. Pretty impressive if you ask me. He is now more Web-savvy than a good 80 percent of the people I work with, including me.

Brady also did one, with the help of a high schooler named Vincent.

And since it's Valentine's Day ...

A brief, unexpected visit

Susan and Lake, taken Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009. Everybody's doing great, but the real reason for this post is to outline the Tsai family itinerary for the weekend.

Lisa wanted David's car. So here's how it came to pass that she got it:

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Lisa flies from San Francisco to Austin, where David lives.

SATURDAY MORNING: Lisa and David drive from Austin to Phoenix. (13 hours)

SUNDAY MORNING: Lisa drops David off at Phoenix airport; David flies back to Houston; Lisa drives through Los Angeles, picks up Susan, and they drive together to San Jose.

MONDAY MORNING: Susan flies from San Jose back to Los Angeles.

Let's see AAA try to TripTik that.

--As Molly was kind enough to point out, my New Year's resolution hasn't exactly panned out. But now that the pictures are downloaded, I should be able to rapid-fire them. Also ... Flip Video possibilities. Stay tuned. In the meantime, here's a picture of the boys on our last ski trip:

Happy New Year! A real resolution

OK, and with this post, I really truly will begin to keep this thing updated, although now that we're both on Facebook that will take some time too ... and then there's the actual matter of living life ... but no bother. We'll find a way.

Christmas and ski trip pics coming next. (Psst: Molly, Lisa, Mom -- send 'em if you got 'em, cuz we ain't got 'em.)
